Hey guys!! I'm at the University Center, typing on a public computer. For some reason, my laptop can't pick up the wireless signal ;-; That's okay. I was beginning to miss desktops anyway.
My first week here has been, so far, AMAZING. Move-in was very rushed, and I had all of a minute to say goodbye to my family, but so far, I've found that I'm not dying of homesickness. In fact, I'm enjoying my freedom very much!
My classes are: Spanish 251, General Chemistry, Taekwondo, Biopsychology, Freshman Year Seminar, and University Seminar. I only have up to four classes a day (*angel chorus in background*) and when I'm not working, I can walk around the campus and find someone I know.
I've become very close with a group of people called my O-Group (Orientation group), with whom I spent the majority of my first two days, dragging myself through an exhausting orientation schedule (very strategic on Mercer's part-- we don't sit alone and mope about leaving all we hold dear at home). There's a boy named Bryan who brought a jar of pig's feet to class to protest a teacher's disagreeable behavior, there's Emi my roommate (who, by the way, is the BEST roommate EVER), Jason the directionally-challenged-but-wonderfully-sweet-and-fashionable, Shantay the funny and sassy, and about 7 others in that group alone.
The dining hall is an amazing experience. Whenever I walk in there, I can find someone I know and sit by them. I can find someone I DON'T know and sit by them. Either way, I always have fun while I eat. Mercer's food selection is the SHIZZ! Fresh biscuits every morning with either bacon or sausage, a wide variety of fruits and yogurt, and SOYMILK. SOYMILK! I did NOT think they'd have that, but thank goodness!!! The menu changes from day to day, so I'm never bored of the food (but I still miss mama's cooking).
I'm not online as much as I'd like, mainly due to the fact that I need to get the ethernet connection in my room fixed (not a completely wireless campus, I'm afraid). After that, I should be on AIM more often to chat it up with people I haven't chatted up in a while.
Anyway, thought I'd let you guys know how everything's going.

P.S.- My parents got me a printer-scanner!! YAY!!! I can still post deviations!
